first day back at work @ 8:44 PM

today's my first day back at work, as a relief teacher. however, i didn't teach and won't be teaching cuz i'm employed for invigilation. haha. weird huh? i thought schools never need relief teachers during exams cuz even if a couple of teachers didn't come in, there'd still be teachers to fill in. oh well.. other than the fact that invigilation is really boring, i don't have any complaints.

anyway, i always thought that exams were a hectic time for the students, however, i think it's equally hectic if not more hectic for the teachers, not to mention chaotic. seeing teachers collect exam scripts from the exam centre have been one of the most if not the most chaotic scenes i've ever seen teachers at.

there wasn't much invigilation today, so i was pretty much a runner and keeping myself busy at the exam centre. had a few conversations with some teachers, some of which were my ex-teachers. it was nice talking to them and all the teachers were really nice. also got to hear interesting conversations, for those who think i was eavesdropping, i wasn't kay. the people talking were fully aware of my presence and they were talking loud enough for everyone in the room to hear. it was just some amusing small talk that went something like that

a: i think i must have squinted or sth while driving, cuz my husband started to say, "so when are you going to get your glasses done? you're driving the kids around you know."

a: it's not like i'm some reckless driver ah.. it's just sometimes, sometimes only at night when everything looks so blur. anyway i was so happy it was my husband that got the first scratch on the new car, i went "YES!!" (with the gesture that usually goes along with this).

a: i scratched the old trajet on this weird curb, you know the one at tm, at the macs side? the one where there's lots of streaks of colours from different cars along the side and this pillar in the middle? sounds like i'm giving alot of reasons ah? *lol* anyway when i heard the sractch i wanted to jump down w/o applying the brakes. dunno why, it's just this feeling. but i didn't la. later i went to check and it was like nothing, then i saw it, alamak, it was at the side.

a: so i called my husband. i was like "Pa, i got into an accident".

a's husband: how are the kids? what happened?

a: the kids are fine. the rear window got smashed.

a's husand: how did that happen?

a: you know the protuding thing at the carpark (i can't really remember what it was exactly). yah la.

a's husband: but the thing doesn't move. so you moved!!!

not sure if you find it funny, but they way she told it was really hilarious. she's such a comical character.

wish me luck for the next coming days of invigilation. i hope i don't fall asleep on the job.
