marini's engagement =) @ 1:16 AM

yesterday was marini's engagment. she was my secondary 1 classmate and i guess you could say one of my closest or best friends back then.

it was quite an experience for me. 1st time attending a friend's engagement and also a malay engagement. her family and relatives were all very welcoming and friendly. despite me being the only chinese there, i didn't feel too out of place. i spent all my time there sitting/standing with her. she was in the room all day taking pics and entertaining the guests who came in to chat. i was there for more than 4 hours, and was the last of her friends to leave. most of them left by 6.30pm. i was there till 8.40 =x

i had a wonderful time catching up with her. haven't had a proper meeting with her for over a year? we'd bump into each other once in a while though, always in town. haha.

anyway, i'm so happy for the couple. they've known each other for 6 years!!! and i've known her for 11+ years? it's really something to be introduced as "best/bestest secondary school friend". i just felt so speechless on hearing those words. heard them more than once, but each time it still makes me feel warm and fuzzy all over =)

in this life, i've perhaps had the honour of having a about 2-3 people that i could call best friends, (yeah i know "best" supposed to be only one, but well... i'm greedy =x) and i'm especially grateful that one of them spent much of her nights the past 2 weeks accompanying me for dinners and gaigai. yours truly didn't like the feeling of being all alone at home =x. besides "thank you" and " 麻烦你了" i don't know what else to say. it means a lot to me.
